Special Skirt
Most hovercraft kits use a skirt material that wraps all the way around the craft forming a single tube. This kind of skirt is inflated by the lift engine, and deflates when you turn the engine off. This skirt is a little difficult to build, and very hard to repair! Construction consists of mixing epoxy together to use as a glue, plus using hundreds of screws to attach the skirt. If you get a major hole, the entire skirt must be taken off and redone!

FSP's special dual skirt design is self contained and therefore doesn’t deflate when an engine is turned off. It is also very durable and incredibly easy to attach. There's no mixing of chemicals! Removing and replacing one of the tubes is simple, and inexpensive as well. You won't be constantly praying that you don't get a hole with our design.

Special Prop Guard
Usually hovercrafts have ducted fans or propellers to provide thrust. We use a propeller guard instead. Ducts work great at slower speeds, but they become more detrimental the faster you go. That’s why you never see an airplane with a ducted propeller. Ducts also need to be within 1/8th of an inch to the spinning propeller to work properly. That means that a kit builder will be bending and shaping wood, mixing epoxy and fiberglassing, all to create a perfectly round shape that doesn’t work good when you go fast. Therefore, FSP has designed a simple and safe propeller guard to protect people from the spinning prop that is easy to build and works great!

Dual Engines
Similarly priced kits have only one engine, plus a huge construction cost. FSP has made some aggressive business partnerships to provide you with a low cost kit with a low construction cost, plus two dual engines for better control! Lift and thrust are independent of each other, which provides for a much more enjoyable hovering experience. Plus 100% of the primary engine's power is devoted to thrust, increasing the top speed.  We use a 5HP impeller based air blower for lift, and a 13HP Horizontal shaft engine spinning a 38" prop for thrust.

Dual Rudders
Our double rudder design gives you better control and response. FSP tested the hovercraft with one rudder, and it worked fine. But two is even better.

Professional Hardwood Propeller
Other kits require you to balance and fiberglass your own propeller, or charge you extra for a finished one. You end up with a painted wood/fiberglass thing that isn’t built professionally. FSP provides a complete, professionally made and beautiful hardwood propeller with all of our hovercrafts – and at no extra cost! The propeller on our hovercraft spins at higher RPM's that most Cessna's props.

Electical Switches
For our dual engines we desighned a system with dual switches to electronically turn them off. This is an excellent safety feature, and provides the operator an extra level of control.

Steering System
A push/pull rod system connects to the joystick to provide quick, positive control to both rudders. There are no control cables that need tightening nor pulleys to install all over the hovercraft. The system is neat, clean, and efficient.

Center of Gravity Placement
This is the key to having a hovercraft hover properly on land. Other kits have a rear CoG to help the hovercraft plane off on water. But FSP wasn't interested in a boat that blows bubbles. We've centered the CoG, which keeps the cushion of air the hovercraft floats on evenly distributed.
